Stories

It’s pretty easy to doubt other people’s outlandish stories. We’d ask for proof if it was something extreme. And yet – we listen to the stories we tell ourselves and believe it without any proof. This works both ways – in arrogance and when we undermine ourselves. “I’m not any good at a, b, c or d” – OR the cocky amongst tell themselves “this is easy”. We don’t ask for proof before we set on a course of action or inaction based on these stories. The next time your inner voice whispers something – think “what proof do I have to confirm that?” before you listen to your “gut” and base your behaviour on an oft unfounded story.
